St. Patrick’s Day is tomorrow and I’m sure you have plans to go to a parade, barbecue, beach party (because of the nice weather), or travel to city. What ever your plans may be an all around good time will be had.
The only negatives about going to these events involve water bottles, plastic forks, knives, spoons and napkins. Parades are the perfect place for children, teenagers and adults to carelessly throw water bottles to the side and plates and plastic silverware to the floor. Just because people are wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t mean they are going green.
Take this year to make a change. Make a conscious effort to hold your empty water bottle until you find a recycling bin or keep that empty plate with you even though you are too lazy to hold it. If you are having a get together at your house opt for reusable plates and silverware. Yes, there is more time at clean-up but it will save you money and help the environment. Taking these small, steps helps keep the environment clean and reduce waste that could have been recycled.
Try to Go Green this year, while you are wearing green!
